Who is Josh, and what are his Studio Updates?
Josh Moir is an Artist and Writer from Dundee, Scotland who loves nothing more than getting deep into current events, while also self indulgently discussing his art practice.
Josh is interested in a wide range of things, from Creativity to Confidence, and Health inequality to Horror Movies. His artistic practice (how wanky) is rooted in investigating and exploring these topics as they relate to modern life, and his own personal story.
Studio Updates cover these topics, plus the behind the scenes excitement of running a creative business in the middle of the most unstable period of financial turmoil anyone can remember, especially in the UK.
He also shares things like what he’s currently reading, listening to, watching and thinking about.

I’ll be honest, nobody knows what the future holds, but the Studio Updates will remain free for as long as I’m putting them out. As this newsletter grows and evolves, I’m not going to pretend that some form of paid content might grow along with it, that would be disingenuous, but I’ll promise you now, the Studio Updates will remain free for as long as I can put them out.
Do you have any other writing anywhere else I can read?
I sure do. I write occasionally for the Scottish Review, so I have some pieces over there (don’t go looking too hard for them, they’ll eventually make their way over here) and I also have a profile on Ao3 where I post fanfics, and I’ll never give the name of that account up willingly, but you’re more than welcome to look for it if you want to. I also have a blog over on my website that has some older content that I haven’t shared yet. I’ve also got a manuscript about two magical boys who save the world, so if you’re in publishing give me a shout.
